Fabric qualities & colours

Glatz offers around 70 colours in three fabric qualities (2, 4 and 5). All canopy fabrics are made of polyacrylic and give UV protection of over 98 percent, equivalent to a sun protection factor of 50+. Note that a parasol only protects from direct sun; UV rays are also reflected by the ground, house walls and water.

What the quality level means

The higher the fabric quality, the better its properties:

  • a longer period before the colour fades (lightfastness)
  • better tear strength and therefore a longer life
  • higher water repellency
  • a more refined look: quality 5 looks matt and firm, quality 2 glossy and light

Fabric quality 5 is the highest of the three qualities. Qualities 4 and 2 also last a long time. According to Glatz, only PFAS-free textiles have been sourced since 2026.

Colours

The palette runs from classic through pastel to intense, bright shades. On some models the frame is also available in different tones (natural anodised, powder-coated, anthracite, wood or wood look). Glatz suggests matching the colour of your window frames. The configurator shows which colours and qualities are available for your model.

Caring for the fabric

Brush small marks off dry with a soft brush. Stains can be treated with lukewarm water, washing-up liquid and a soft brush; then rinse well with clear water and let dry. Never use aggressive detergents.
